Dream, Believe, Achieve

Thank you for your interest in this post.

Set in the heart of the West Midlands, WM School originally opened in 1977 and is an 11-18 co-educational comprehensive school of 1540 students of whom some 231 are in the Sixth Form.

Our school is an exciting place to work where we serve our fantastic students and community. As importantly, it is a happy working environment – few colleagues leave, other than for promotion, and many have gone on to Headships and other senior positions across the country.

The WM School, as you will read in the Ofsted Report of April 2015, is a successful and thriving School. Year 7 is significantly over-subscribed annually and demand is growing; the same is true of our Sixth Form, and this reflects the excellent reputation of our School.

We aren’t complacent though as we aspire to be outstanding in ALL that we do.
Our aim is simply to be the most successful school in our region – to aspire to this we need to achieve excellence in all that we do, and then ensure that such levels are extended.

The Mathematics Faculty is at the centre of the innovative practices at the school priding itself in autonomy, innovation and encouraging teachers to have the freedom to try out new ideas without fear of failure. We have leading practitioners in a variety of fields and a successful bid to the DfE led to one of our faculty being selected to work with the Maths Hubs to create a course for new Core Mathematics post 16 qualification.
